Sydney Tower (Market Street, b/w Pitt and Castlereagh Streets, Sydney) – located in Sydney’s central business district (CBD), this tower (a major point of reference in that city) was built during the 1970s and opened to the public in 1981. Measuring 309 meters in height, this makes Sydney Tower the tallest building in Sydney and the third tallest in Australia). A shopping center is located on the base of this tower, while tourists flock to its observation deck, known as the Sydney Tower Eye, which offers a panoramic view of Sydney (admission: A$26/adult, A$15/child, A$82/family of four).
